Leading Scotch whiskey brand, Ballantine’s has revealed to its Cameroonian public, three brand ambassadors fronting its latest campaign to promote self-confidence, awareness and originality. The three: DJ Labastille, actress and singer, Mimie, and serial hit maker, Ko-C, were revealed in Douala, as the brand expressed unveiled its latest campaign dubbed ‘There’s No Wrong Way’.
“We selected the three because of what they represent. They have stayed true to the lifestyle… we want young people to look at these personalities and want to do more for themselves. To realise that being in the art industry can actually bring value to your life,” explained Jeannette Quashie, Ballantine’s Brand and Activations Manager.
The choice of the three as ambassadors for the Ballantine’s brand, she added, is also meant to produce mutually beneficial and exceptional results: “We have a platform called True Music and we really intend connecting with our audience online… We are expanding. We are trying to go beyond Douala and Yaounde. We want to go to all the other places and we even want to make sure our prices are affordable… there is a lot we are looking to do and improve.”
Expressing his gratitude, DJ Labastille said being Ballantine’s ambassador is a dream-come-true for him, a testament to his sleepless nights and an indicator to work even harder. In similar fashion, Ko-C expressed his content with the brand’s commitment to support creativity.
The lone lady among the three, Mimie, said partnering with one of the foremost Scotch whiskey brands, is to her, of utmost importance given that it embodies self-expression, a value she upholds to the highest esteem.
The deal is set to last for a year, but Ballantine’s noted that it remains open to an extension, given the belief it has in the three influencers and their potentials to positively impact the target audience. The ‘There’s No Wrong Way’ campaign is the first key project the three ambassadors are undertaking for the brand.
Among others, they will spearhead the brand’s drive to encourage self-expression and originality within the next generation of artists and young people. They will also be expected to partake in Ballantine’s continuous efforts to encourage responsible drinking and self-awareness.
